Replacement outdoor sensor suite for the Aercus Instruments Weather Ranger and Weather Sleuth. Comes with FREE indoor sensor

I bought this to replace the original one that had a couple of sensor failures, but which had lasted two and a half years. During that time it had recorded some impressive storms and two floods!
Before buying this I thought the cost of the replacement was rather high - coming in at £115 with VAT added, so I took the opportunity to look around and see what other products were available that would do the job as good as the one it was replacing. Surprisingly there are not many on the market that have the range the Aercus has - and the nearest costs an awful lot more!
My new Aercus was an immediate replacement for the original, and picked up connection and data recording seemlessly. I was impressed!
It is now two weeks since the new Aercus was installed. During that time I have had no problems whatsoever with it. There are two other weather stations in the area (a very rural part of Lancashire) and this weather station compares very well with theirs from other manufacturers. I have no hesitation in recommending this as a replacement.
These are my own thoughts on a product I have bought and paid for.

I first bought this weather station in March 2016 and had been very pleased with it. It was robust and accurate and survived some wild gales on the roof of my house in Northern Scotland!
However, recently it developed a battery issue - a fresh set of batteries would only last 1 month, then only 2 weeks and finally exhausted them in only a couple of days. Looking on the web for ideas on what I could do to fix the problem, I came across a couple of reports from those with exactly the same electrical issue also occurring after 2-3 years. I hope this will not happen again as I have just bought the identical weather station again as a straight one-for-one replacement and the new one is up and running fine.
It seems a good value weather station and provided the battery issue isn’t too common then it is well worth considering.

2 year old one started draining batteries every two weeks or so - presumably some electronis fault. Got this to replace it. Linked to existing base station no problem. Normal service is now resumed

I originally had a Weather Ranger which had suffered some damage over the years and sent off for replacement sensors. Despite all the best efforts of Greenfrog Technical, I could just not get them to connect to my existing screen. Within two weeks Greefrog replaced the whole lot. Everything is now working perfectly. A great product and a great company.
